They're not just for looks though, cauldrons are useful in many apsects of witchcraft.
- Filled a small way with sand, they can be used to burn loose incense on charcoal discs or to secure an incense stick or cone into the sand before burning.
- Candles can be stood in the sand to secure them.
- Petitions, sigils, spell papers, and herb sticks can be burned within to cleanse a space or manifest energies.
- Liquids can be heated with a tealight or fire burned beneath the cauldron.
- Scrying can be performed in a dimly lit room with a seasoned cauldron filled with water.
Symbolically, they are associated with goddesses and transformation, fertility and the womb.
This cauldron is around 11 x 11.5 cms with variation between cauldrons, with a Pentacle design on the sides, three feet, a carry handle and lid.
Please be aware that cast iron gets exceptionally hot and takes a very long time to cool down. Be sure nothing is near the cauldron when hot, and do not move it till it is completely cooled down.
Cast iron can rust very easily, it is important that after washing you dry it completely to stop rusting. If rusting develops, it can be brushed away with an iron brush.
